Schnell Cemetery
The Story
The cemetery is located on the SW corner of NE 34-22-31. Jacob Schnell homesteaded the quarter.
The first burials were before 1895. Two children belonging to Jakob and Katherine Schoepp were killed when the sod roof of their house fell on them. Jacob Schnell's wife was buried in 1905, and Jacob was buried in the same cemetery some time later.
Another burial was a twin to Ludwig Werle, Philip Werle, who died in infancy in November of 1902. There are a total of twelve graves, in which seven are unknown. The cemetery is under cultivation, and there is no trace of the graves.
